Hi there
I'm using Videostudio 8 and the box clearly states that it can output/export mpeg-4. it then says that the mpeg 4 codec is required. It would be quite nice if Ulead could actually provide a link or instructions on how to go about this.
Reason being is that I would like to export to my Play Station Portable. I understand VS10 can export directly to the PSP but quite frankly I am reluctant to 'upgrade' unless I am assured that a certain bug? that darkens EVERY piece of video I have ever imported into VS is fixed.
Yes, the imported video file (AVI or whatever you try) looks and plays perfectly in preview but is ALWAYS several shades darker on final rendering causing much gnashing of teeth and frothing at the mouth.
Get it sorted ULead before I switch to Pinnacle.
thanks
graham

I no longer have the box, but I take you at your word about what it says. However, I have just fired up my version of VS8 (still on my computer with VS 9 and 10+). And I can't find any reference to mpeg-4 files EXCEPT in relation to DivX mpeg-4 files which of course use the .AVI extension as a carrier format... Given that VS8 came out in early 2004 (?), I don't think it would have been ready to use what have become more widely used, and more efficient (?), mpeg-4 codecs. But of course, I could be wrong...
