I have attempted to edit my first video 2.7G, audio recorded during the video recording is present throughout in the camera. When opened in VS10 and played through, intermittent audio loss occurs. After the burning process no audio is present at all.
I have tried a slide show with stills complete with back ground music and that was ok.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem please.

Are you using the trial version? If so, and your project contains Dolby audio, it will not work (due to licensing issues w/Dolby).

Hi Jeff, I am using the full version, I have since copied a DVD on my computer borrowed from a friend and played it on my stand alone DVD player and the audio was fine so the burner side of things is ok.
I reported the problem to Ulead and they replied:- If you are playing the DVD in your computer, you might need an DVD encoding software that supports playing the AC-3 sound or Dolby Digital audio. This encoder can be found in most DVD playing softwares like WinDVD and DVD Xpack.
WinDVD:

DVD Xpack:

I don't wish to pay for these and find they don't do the job. any ideas?

Hi Solo,
Since you have the full version of VS10, the Dolby audio should not be an issue. So now we need to investigate other possibilities.
1. Complete your system information in your profile. That way we can just click on the system button to review your system, and ensure it meets the specs for running VS10.
2. Post your Video and Project Properties. For your Project Properties, Go to File Menu>Project Properties, for the Video file Properties, right-click on a video clip in the Timeline (or Library) and select Properties.
3. How did you get the video onto your computer (capture/transfer method)? Did it come from a camcorder, VCR, DVD, downloaded from the internet? Did you capture/transfer to Upper Field First, Lower Field First, or Frame Based? I don't think that this is part of the current issue, since you are not reporting jittery video.
That should give us somewhere to start looking...
