still frame capture

Post by dave01867 »

How does one grab a still frame from a clip and save it under a new name? I need to save my stills under different names.

Thanks.

With the video clip highlighted in the timeline, and in Edit mode, you will see in middle right of screen in VS10, 'Save as Still Image'. Make sure the clip is selected/highlighted, otherwise that command will not appear. Have the timeline view out to the maximum to be able to put the downward arrow pointer above the timeline over the frame you want. Click the Save as Still Image button. It will appear in the Image Libarary pane above the button with one of Ulead's weird names and in the format you selected in File > Preferences (BMP or JPG). And you can change the name using Microsoft's My Computer or Win Explorer ( Right click > rename).
