Just upgraded to VS10+, and I don't see any render option

Post by voidix »

Every time I click on the share tab I get the error "An Unsapported Operation was Attempted" and there is no Create Movie button to click. Also when I click the "output this video to a different medium" icon I get the same error. What's wrong? I put in my serial number upon installation, everything seemed fine.

Please post your clip and project properties, as well as the steps you are taking up to the point of the error message. Simply saying "Every time I click on the share tab I get the error "An Unsapported Operation was Attempted" and there is no Create Movie button to click." is not enough to go on. The more info you can provide the better.

There really isn't any more information to give. Installed Video studio ten pro, click share tab, get this error. Doesnt matter what file I have open, still happens when I open a new project, or remove my shared files from the share tab.

I was working fine on the non-pro version, just upgraded to get the multiple overlay option. As soon as I installed VS10-PRO this error started happening.

#1, there isn't a "Pro" version of VideoStudio that I am aware of. Are you sure we're talking about the same thing here? Do you mean version 10+?
#2, there is more info to give, such as the info I asked for. It may not seem important to you, but it may be to me or others who may try to help. What do you do when you go to the doctor? Do you say "I don't feel good. What's wrong with me?".

It just baffles me that people come on this board seeking help but refuse to give some simple information that may result in a fix for their problem.
Rant over.

I tend to agree that voidix seems to be talking about a completely different program. In the nearly five years I have been using VS, I have never seen a message such as the one described ("An Unsapported Operation was Attempted") nor seen it reported on this Board or its predecessor.

In addition, there is, of course, no 'Create Movie' button (although, inter alia, there is a 'Create Disc' and 'Create Video File" button). And also, there is no "output this video to a different medium" icon as far as I am aware either -- just the buttons for 'DV recording' (for export back to a digital video camera) or 'Export to Mobile Device'.

Perhaps those who use Pinnacle Studio 10 -- or other programs -- may be able to comment on whether any of these messages and commands seem familiar. I have used Cyberlink's Power Producer and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and Elements 1.0, and they aren't familiar to me from there either... :?:

Black Lab, it seems as if you have taken my post the wrong way. I am aware of the fact that this is a board comprised of Ulead users, not Ulead employees, and that your help is a privilege not a right. However, there really isn't any more information I can give you. The files themselves have nothing to do with this error, as it occurs even when there is a fresh project opened, and no files connected to the shared folder.

Obviously I was mistaken when I said Pro, I mean Plus, I'm sorry. Also, seeing as the option is no longer available to me I was running off of memory, I was incorrect when I stated "Create Movie," and meant to say "Create Video File."

Unfortunately this only seems to make things worse, as it is obvious that neither Ulead nor the community seems to have any record of this error. However, I can assure you I am at the right forum, and am referring to the correct program.

As for the "output this video to a different medium" tab, I was referring to.

As far as the file types used in my projects, they varry depending on the project. I have quite a few movies I work on, all of them receive the error.

Files types used: AVI, WMV, MPG, PNG, JPG, SWF, MP3, WAV. All their stats varry as well, I could list them all but I don't think it will lead to an answer, and it could take a few pages. I am going to run some registry cleaners and try re-installing again, thanks anyway.

  I acknowledge I have never moused over that particular button and seen the 'Output the video to a different medium' message!!!  But I certainly have never seen anyone on this Board mention the 'unsupported operation' message before...

Sorry I can be of more help...
