jerky video output
It seems no matter what I do, every project in VS9 is jerky - I mean every single one. What am I doing wrong? Audio is fine, as is image quality, but the video does a little jerk every two seconds or so. It's not much and the video is still watchable, but it means the end result inevitably looks extremely unproffesional...

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
To answer your question we need a lot more information about your workflow and the video properties you are using.
First where are you getting the video footage from:-
Download from internet
Capture from a cam corder
Is the camcorder digital or analogue
How are you connecting the camera (firewire or composite)
Capture from Tv tuner?
So how are you capturing your video.
What capture properties are you using.
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, What are they.
Usually jerky video is related to the frame order. ¡¥Upper or lower¡¦
For more info read the recommended procedure at the top of this forum.
Hope this Helps

You may think it does not matter, but that information is needed to determine what may be causing your problems. If it wasn't needed then Trevor would not have asked for it. If you do not wish to provide it then I guess there's nothing more we can do to assist you.

Hi
Video Studio is a video editor for creating dvd¡¦s and as such works much better using the correct material.
If you use low quality footage you cannot expect good quality dvd.
As I don¡¦t know anything about the video files I cannot comment on the poor quality, or give advice on what to do.
Your video output file is also an important part of creating good quality.
What are the properties of your video files?
The next question was at which point do you notice the jerky video.
From the original footage, after editing or after making a dvd?
Re-installing VS may be an option and should not do any harm, whether it cures your problem is¡K¡K¡K¡K.
Regards
Trevor
