Terrible audio when I add my narration!

Post by ashaver »

I have tried over and over again in both Version 10 and 9 to get the filter to remove the noise. If anything, it gets worse. I have tried different microphones, and am using a brand new computer, so it should work. I must be doing something wrong!

The first thing that I would suspect is a terrible impedence mismatch between the microphone and the PC audio input. Experiment with different connections.

The second thing to look at is the audio controls Gui in your PC. Some of these are incredibly complicated and have to be set up correctly. Your sound board may have an operation manual.

And thirdly, I don't think VS's audio filters are that great. You may want to try using another app for that. Audacity is a free one and it works much better IMHO.

Terrible Audio when adding commentary

Thank you very much for your very helpful suggestions. I installed Version 10 on my laptop and my recorded voice sounds normal. I am still trying to determine why I can hear audio on my earlier web pages but not on the current one. You certainly pointed me in the right direction.
