MF5+ Capture issues

Trying to capture using MF5+ Canopus advc100 firewire and it does capture but ends the capture randomly. I cannot figure out if it is a settings issue or hardware.

I can capture fine using VideoStudio 8.0

Where do I look to figure this out?

Windows xp sp2 all updates
P4 3.0GHZ
2G DDR MEM
Separate ide HD for capture w/ 200g free
canopus advc100 firewire capture device
