just downloaded mediastudio - the clock is ticking

Post by lakewud »

(one day ill get to grips with these programs and give advice instead of always asking for it!! )

I have videostudio 9, and very happy with it, however mentioned on the forum there about something i want to do and it was suggested to me ( by the as aways prompt members on this forum ) to download mediastudio as it may help.

So, this ive done. And first glance looks impressive..thou..as with all things new..a little complicated.

Seeing as this is only a trial, and i have limited time between work! to actually edit my videos could someone please give me a quick way of doing the following on mediastudio.

Say, for example, i have a cat image/movie all i want to do is to take that clip and at a certain point bring in a circle effect, closing in on the cats face ( or better still just keep the clip the same proporations only go in time with the circle ). Until finally it stops and the words ( for example ) a checiO production appears...the O being now the smaller version of the video clip of a cat.

Ho-hum...seen it all before i know..nothing original but thats what i would like...so please an easy version to do this, then save and bring it back into Videostudio 9.

I noticed when i did bring in my project attempts into mediastudio that the wordings had shifted a lot, and transitions were different to the ones id used for my project in videostudio...just mentioning in case i can expact the same thing to happen once i do edit my clip in mediastudio and bring it into videostudio.

Thanks, appologies for the lengthy post to what must be a simple answer.

Hello there

It's not too difficult but you do need to create the logo overlay in a graphic or flash program. (You could do it entirely in MSP but it gets much more complex)

I did mine in a Flash creator called Koolmoves. This is so that when zoomed, the logo is smooth.

You can create the logo in a graphics program but for the zoom needed you should create it at least 4 times the video size. You can either create a transparent tif or fill the O with a different colour.

The process in MediaStudio

a) Put cat clip on v1 and logo overlay on V2

b) If you use an image, set the overlay and use pan and zoom filter on V2

c) Use a moving path on V1 to move and size the cat with the hole in V2.

That's it, hope you get the effect you want

BTW, I use Koolmoves or Cool3D to create all my masks and logos because thay are fully scaleable formats that have transparency.
