Fire plugin Cool3d SE

Post by BuZZarD »

I keep seeing and hearing things about the fire effect that is allegedly located in the global settings on easy pallette.

I'm using 3.0 se with video studio but there is only shadow and motion blur.
I downloaded one from the Ulead site from the free content section.
Everytime I import it, nothing happens.

Should there be one already or do I need it from somewhere else?

HI Buzzard,

I'm sorry but the SE version will not support the Particle Effects, especially the fire..:(

The full purchased version of Cool 3D has that effect and more..

Bah humbug.

Well in that case, I need to go buy the full version.
But... Before I do...

A couple of questions.

I made a sequence that included lighting and the explode effects and made it 150 frames long (5 seconds). Everytime I made a change to it,
it took like 20 minutes.
Is that how long it should take?

Can I do a simple quick preview before rendering the clip?

Ron...
Your advice is always priceless, but everytime you help me out, it costs me more money

Are you saying it takes 20 minutes to just be able to preview it? Check to see if there is an option Smart Render on the View menu. It should have a check mark next to it. I'm not sure if your version has Smart Render capabilities though. Cool3D programs behave like VS that has High-Quality Playback enabled. It renders, then you can preview it.

Now here's a little info, the little brother to Cool 3D PS, Cool 3D 3.5, renders faster then Production Studio. It has a little less features but renders faster.

I guess I need to request my sales commission from Ulead...:)

Ok.
I'm outa money now so I can't afford to buy anything else whatsoever!

Now, here's what I'm looking to do:

I have my logo arranged in a circle.
I have got it spin slowly, then made it faster and faster.
It then begins smouldering (using the particle thingy) and then it bursts into flame, finally exploding.

Now, that bits done (and I only got the program today so I'm quite proud  ).
What I want to do, is have it spinning around a hand grenade at the time.
I have got such objects, but they are 3dmax and 3ds files.

I looked for a way to convert them but can't find one.
I've read some posts relating to it on these forums, but none of them make sense.
They talk about closed paths etc.

Is there a way to do it easily and in plain english?

I've spent a pretty penny so far and made the mistake of thinking that a 3d object was a 3d object, in the same way an avi is an avi and a jpg a jpg.

Pleeeeeease save me from myself

For 3DS files, you can use COOL 3D Production Studio to import them, just select File->Import 3D Model->3D Studio.

Ulead COOL 3D Production Studio:
http://www.ulead.com/c3ds

If you wish to import the 3DS file with materials like colors and textures, you need to import the 3DS file in D3D data type; if you do not wish to import them with materials, import them in C3D data type.

If your 3DS file is in .MAX format or cannot be imported by C3DPS, you need a third party tool named Deep Exploration to convert them, which you can find in http://www.righthemisphere.com/products/dexp/

For closed path, they are only needed if you want to import 2D vector files like .AI or .WMF. You do not need the closed path technique if you want to import a 3D file.

Hope this helps.
