Small horizontal distorted line when Capturing VHS-C?

Post by cmulder »

When I capture video from a VCR using VHC-C tapes and an adapter, I get a small horizontal line at the bottom of the video--it is completely straight like it is another portion of the video, but it is distorted and sguiglly. I've tried different adapters and different VCRs and different computers and yet it remains. I am useing ADS Instand DVD+DV although the same thing happens with Plextor's Capture device. I also tried difference capture programs (Cap-Wiz) and Ulead VideoSTudio 7. Very strange that it persists in everything I try. Anyon know how to get rid of it?

Actually, I found the answer--that line is apparently information sent (like letterbox for hearing impaired) that was not intended to be seen and would not be seen on a regular television. Fortunately, I use as DVD player (Momitsu) where I can change the picture mode so it is hidden. I'd still like to know if there is anyway to get rid of it because I normally like to keep the DVD set at 720p but have to set it to 480p in order to get rid of that interference.
