Lower quality playback ???

I have a 4 year old comp.. but i have been upgraded to 768 ddr ram and 1.5ghz ahtlon xp. Ulead VS 9 runs fine on my comp but when I edit movies is alot of transition effects filters, and overlays the preview playback sometimes skips over these highly edited parts. Is there a way to lower the quatlity of the playback so i can just see what these parts look like before i actually render it .

Truthfully, a 1.5Ghz processor is barely powerful enough to run Video Studio. The only way you'd be able to see a transition perform in the timeline, would be to grab and slowly move the slide bar accros the effect so that you can see what it will look like when rendered. Your system is not powerful enough to be able to properly visually process effects, titles etc in real time in the timeline.
