Photo Explorer 8.0SE Basic
Program installs.
When run, program loads, then an error message comes up from the Pex program:

At this point I close the error box and Photo Explorer closes down.
Please advise what to do.

Some versions of XviD CODEC pack are not compatible with Ulead products. You can try the following solutions to see if they fix.
Update your XviD CODEC pack version.
Or,
Rename uvAVI.vio and uvQT.vio in the VIO folder under the install path of PhotoExplorer. But this will make your PhotoExplorer cannot play Windows Media files and QuickTime movie files in its file viewer. After renaming the .vio files, PhotoExplorer will invoke QuickTime Player and Windows Media Player to play those files.
Or,
Remove XviD CODEC pack in your system and use DivX CODEC pack instead. DivX CODEC pack can let your player still can read XviD video files but will have some quality loss.
You can download a free DivX CODEC pack version from http://www.divx.com
