Flash animations lose laeyrs in Ulead 10

Post by MichaelMMM »

When I capture swf files and then insert them into a video clip, the layers in the swf with text are missing. Is this a problem with V10? :?

I'm not following what you're doing. You say when I capture swf files. How are capturing swf files? Are you downloading them from the internet, are they ones that you created, or ones that you've purchased?

SWF files can be somewhat tricky, when it comes to other applications, besides a web browser being used to view them. There are numerous unresolved problems just with flash player being able to play them with a browser.

How the SWF was created plays an important role in if another application can load and play it. If there is actionscripting telling the player which scene, movieclip, frame to go to or what frame to make some object transparent or opaque, then the hosting application will only be able to use and play it correctly if it understands and can deal with flash actionscripts. I've tried a few simple script projects using Swishmax, and found that VS will not correctly play SWFs that have several sprites (movieclips), with scripts If you are using a flash authoring program to create them, it is best to stick with OOP (object oriented programming), and not rely on scripts.

Thanks so much for the fast response.
I have the swf's created for me. I "capture" them by using the "capture" step in VideoStudio and browse to open the relevant swf files.
I don't believe there are any Actionscript issues, but its apparent from what you say that even simple swf files may cause problems.

I'll need toattempt to convert the swfs to mpegs in order to enable me to burn them to a DVD so that they can be played on a DVD player.
Thanks again.

Ok, now by the sounds of it could they be video that have been converted to SWF or FLV? That's another matter in and of itself.

Instead of using the capture step, while in the edit step, just click on Insert Video File, browse to the location of your SWFs, and insert them that way.

Hi.
Those swf's are not converted from Video. My business is having short adverts made in swf for clients for use in a scheduling program (on a PC that is linked to LCD's). This client wants the adverts on a DVD for playing on a dvd player. Hence the need to "get it on a dvd".

I believe I may have some system memory issues. I'll see what I can resolve.

Version 10 loses layers from Flash files

Post by seasidedr »

I've been trying to do much the same thing. I embedded a video file into a flash document, added a cool background and published my file. I went to Ulead Video Studio and opened the flash file and my cool background is the only thing that shows. I had put the video on a seperate layer. I tried just using one layer with my video and Ulead will not see the actual video. This is so disappointing because you can do so much with flash and to be able to add other things and burn it to a DVD using Ulead. For the life of me I can't figure out a fix for this. What I was going to do was combine several flash files and make an intro for our church, burn it to a DVD and be able to give them to visitors.

Ulead Videostudio 10 loses layers from swf files

I have simply been unable to resolve this.
I'm sure its an "issue" with VS.
In fact, its so difficult to get ANY program to reliably convert an swf to DVD.
I've tried many, and every one (bar none) have failed.

Did you try this one? Swish Studio. It converts SWF to *.exe, screensavers, burns to CD and DVD.
