Everytime i close videostudio 10+ the following happens: a error occured application read error etcetera from windowsxp. Then when i open videostudio agan he wants to recover the previous project. I must save the project to the one that is was before the error on closing. Every time this happens so it is annoiing because i work every day on the same project and must repeat these steps every day.
The source of the problem is to hard to follow i guess, it could be due to the project (much photo's/video's (short) and transitions fx etc) but i am much more interested how i can solve this problem.
I have tried to close the project before i close videostudio and open another shorter project but this doesn't work because when i open videostudio he again wants to try to recover the project that was not even open before i closed videostudio (i opened another project before closing videostudio)
Someone has a solution for this very anoiing problem?

I am sure there must be a more elegant solution but all I could suggest on this one is that you try uninstalling VS10 and re-installing.
And if that doesn't work then go to the disk backup image (you do have one don't you?
) that you created prior to installing VS 10, restore the image of your hard drive with that (you now have a system disk that has never seen VS 10) and then re-load VS 10.
If you don't have a disk backup image, then I suggest you purchase a disk imaging program such as Image for Windows. Reload your computer system from scratch i.e. format the hard drive, load XP and any "basic" applications, taking disk image snapshots along the way. Eventually you will reach the point where you can install VS 10 on a "clean" system.
Another alternative - one that I have never attempted - is to try restoring to a "restore point" - the one just before VS 10 was initially loaded. I am not on an XP system at the moment and I can't remember how to access it - it is available via right clicking on "My Computer" and selecting one of the tabs on this dialog....
Best of luck,
Peter

Thx but what are you say?Colin wrote:Surfer, I have much the same problem, but not every time I close VS10. Maybe 50% of the time. The computer then spends 15 - 20secs writing a log file.
Using the trial version, and W2k SP4. Sorry, not much help really, but you are not on your own.
