Can't save trimmed video
All of a sudden VideoStudio 9 will no longer save my trimmed video clips. It had been working fine previously, even earlier that day. Now when I select "Save Trimmed Video" from the Clip pull down menu in Edit mode nothing at all happens. It just ignores me. (I am trying to save trimmed video after the automated "split by scene," which is working fine, in order to "re-set"/ expand the trimming bar for more finetuning.) I've tried importing and saving several different video clips, all from the same camcorder I've always used, to no avail. Any idea what the problem or solution is?

Because this has all occured the same day and was working OK before, possibly a corrupt video file due to a faulty connection with your camcorder. Have you got any previously saved video clips that you could try.
Anything else ocured today (or since you last did this without any problems) such as a computer crash. Any new programs or hardware recently installed or removed?

I had the same problem.
I also noticed that in the 'share' section, the option to 'share video online' was also missing and that drove me nuts
I just reinstalled VS9 and chose the repair option.
That put everything back perfectly and the above two functions worked fine.
I also went and bought VS10 for some odd reason.
Took a few days to get used to the new layout, but it is sooooo much better and the features are more accessible.
Completely unrelated, but just thought I'd plug a fine product...
It's my duty

What exactly about plain VS10 is good?

Would you mind expanding?
I've just looked at VS10 and VS10+ on the Ulead site, and finally decided that VS10 was approximately the same as the VS9 which I already have and like very much.
Ulead isn't quite honest in its description of these programs. You ask for information about VS10 (not 10+) and the paragraphs describe features ONLY found in VS10+. I couldn't find a really good reason to upgrade, particularly since everything is working so well as is.
Did you go from VS9 to VS10? (Not VS10+ right?)

Re: What exactly about plain VS10 is good?
If you have a need for more video tracks or a little more control over audio, then you should upgrade. If these features aren't important to you then there probably is no reason for you to upgrade, as v9 & v10(+) are basically identical aside from those features.kebrinton wrote:I've just looked at VS10 and VS10+ on the Ulead site, and finally decided that VS10 was approximately the same as the VS9 which I already have and like very much.

saving trimmed video problem resolved
I don't think the problem was a corrupt video, because I'd tried to save numerous other videos, including ones that I'd been able to save previously, without success.
And I had tried reinstalling VideoStudio with the repair option twice, and that didn't solve the problem either.
I made one change that seemed to fix the problem quite unexpectedly: I changed the Resampling Quality under Preferences from Good to Best. I have no idea why this fixed the problem (if that is in fact what fixed it).
