No, I thought you had downloaded MSP 8. Those instructions will not work with VideoStudio.lakewud wrote:thanks for your time in repling.
What you describe does seem a little above my abilities however, i will attempt what you say over the next few days...plan to nail this one!...i take it all this can be achieved with VS9.
Thanks again.

No, You need to use MediaStudio, follow Rons steps and then save the sequence as an avi file. You can then import the avi file into VideoStudio and mix it in with the rest of your stuff.
Sorry if it sounds complex but this is one of the reasons why there are two Ulead video editing products.
VideoStudio - reasonably easy
MediaStudio - complex.
Many users start off with VideoStudio to grasp the essentials of video editing and then decide to explore deeper. It is common practice that these users will start off with small tasks in MediaStudio and pass the results over to VideoStudio to complete the project. When those users then get more confident they will complete a project start to finish completely with MediaStudio.

Hi lakewud
I am not sure that this is what you are trying to achieve, a bit involved but here goes.
I just ran this process through VS 9 to create a shrinking circle.
This is what I did
Started new project
Add Green colour clip at 10 seconds
Add Black Colour clip At 10 sec.
Add transition at 10 sec ¡¥Wipe/Circle¡¦
Rendered to DV to create a Avi file. (called¡X1 green circle)
Start new project
Insert new Dv-Avi in timeline (1 green circle)
Cut last 2 seconds and delete, this retained my circle on screen.
Rendered to new DV-Avi (called it 2 green circle)
Placed the ¡¥2 green circle¡¦ in timeline in a new project (8 secs long)
Selected last frame in project mode, and from Tools-Save Current Frame as Image
Dragged Dv-Avi ¡¥2 green circle¡¦ in overlay track
Placed Image saved from above in overlay track, (7 secs) adjacent to dv-avi
Total length of project 15 secs.
Applied Chrome Key to both clips to remove green colour.
Placed my cat to the main timeline, which looks just like a football (I13.jpg), from the image library. Set to 6 sec.
Placed the cat clip again to overlay track for 9 secs.
Set Pan and Zoom for first image.
Pan from centre of frame to middle of ball.
Zoom to ¡VStart 112 end 150 ( these settings will require adjusting depending on the size of the image.)
Applied zoom to second image 150 start and end.(ticked the NO Panning box)
Render the project to Dv to produce the final video clip.
This should play much better than the project.
Add titles to the new video clip.
Result, the frame collapses to a small sized circle in the middle of the screen,
the image pans following the ball, keeping the ball in view.
The circle and image stay in view for a further 9 seconds¡X15 in all.
There may be many variations to this work flow, getting the circle to pan may be the next step.
If you wish I could e-mail the *.vsp¡¦s for you to view using VS 9
This should be possible as all the clips used are saved on your pc in VS 9
Hope this helps

Hi Steve
Try this link:-

I had to zip the files, for some reason I could not upload the *.vsp files without zipping

Trevor,
The first project works O.K.
1_greencircle.VSP
However the second project has a missing clip
"Original file [E:\test circle transition\2 green circle.avi] doesn't exist."
(no problem - create one from the first vsp)
But.....
Original file [E:\test circle transition\uvs061030-001.BMP] doesn't exist
So tried relinking to c:\program files\ulead systems\ulead videostudio 9.0\samples\image\i13.jpg
Got the first part to work OK but not the second part.
From what I've seen so far we could make our own 'James Bond' effect!
I think it would be a good idea if we all share these sort of effects
I have already started a thread for MediaStudio stuff
Here
I think we could start off another for VideoStudio. This could be the candidate for the first one if you can sort out the above problem.

Steve,
Can I propose Ron's and my variations on creating a transparent title as the second candidate for a VS effect: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=17901
