Looking for a simple Tutorial on DVD menus

Post by leemer »

Where kind I find a tutorial on DVD menu creations that explains in good detail what all the commands stand for like ie. IMG_BG, SCENE_ ,
Is there a image somewhere as well that could show 2 or 3 examples on different comibations of menus? And explantions on the menus
I did find one tutorial on this website but, it did not go into detail where I could understand it very well.
And also How Do I put a moving background and access a different page to select scenes etc. I have some pre-made menus that I can load into the PhotoImpact but, I dont think the objects are not named correctly. Do I modify the text already in there and add pictures etc. or do i do that later on in a program like VideoStudio or something similiar.
Also how do I know what object to name what ie. a inactive button or a decoration layer
Also in the photoimpact program I already have the DVD plug in as well.
I hope this post was not to confusing because I am confused :)
Thanks for any help in advanced

Firstly download the Tutorial in PDF format
Create a DVD Menu from scratch with PhotoImpact and also further down that thread the DVD Menu wizard.

If you use the DVD Menu Wizard you need not worry about the various naming conventions becausethe wizard takes care of that for you.

When you download the wizard you will also find a help file located at
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact 11\plugin\MDT\MDT2.pdf

(Don't forget to modify the 11 to 12 if you're using PhotoImpact 12 instead of 11)

I wouldnt worry too much at this stage about the moving background and sounds. You can include them at this point but they can be modified later with your DVD authoring program
DVD Workshop
VideoStudio
MovieFactory
CD & DVD Picture show.
