Problem inserting WAV's into existing audio track

Post by jim6918 »

I am creating a audio file for Halloween that is made up up of many, and I mean MANY short WAV's of assorted "creepy sounds." I am also adding a background wind overlay on the the voice track. As I am building the file, I peridically want to insert a WAV between two previously placed WAV's. The only way I can figure out how to do this is to go to the end of the track and individually move every WAV down far enough to give room to insert the new WAV. Now that my file is composed of nearly 150 different WAV's, it is becoming harder and harder to insert a new WAV. Trying to add a 2 or 3 minute music WAV really compunds the issue There should be a way of inserting a new WAV without having to move everything down to give room, but for the life of me I haven't figured it out. Can anybody help?

It's true, to insert something into the audio timeline there must be a space to insert it. It is not like the video timeline that will move the next clip over.
Instead of moving every clip individually you can use a typical Windows shortcut to move them all. Click on the first clip you want to move, hold down the shift key and click on the last clip. Now those, and all that are in between will be highlighted and you can move them all to your heart's content.
