Hello there guys. I'm a total beginner and have this huge problem. At least huge for me not for you. I have a divx file (avi) which I have to cut and keep only about 40 seconds of it. So I loaded it in the timeline cut it in three parts and kept one of it, as said about 40 secs.
When I create the videofile I have a nice looking video running but the audio is out of sync. It looks like audio is a lot behind the video. This means that I splitted audio but cannot do anything with it since I should have it moved before the video and now I can only move it to the right of the timeline.
I know it's me, but can you eventually help me or mention some posts which cover the thing?
I have VS8 with a really recent ACER laptop

I think you may have 2 problems. Number 1, VS8 had an enormous amount of out of sync issues. Upgrade to version 10 and it may solve your problems. But, (here comes problem number 2) if you do a search for divx you will find that many people experience problems with this highly compressed format.
If I were you I would at least upgrade to VS10 (it also has some very nice enhancements, besides fixing the oos issues.).
