Rendering seems to bottleneck-Starts fast and slows horribly

Post by sbooth875 »

Running Media Studio Pro 7 with SP2 to webcast my universities news programs. When I go to render the video captures the render starts extremely fast and goes through about 30 seconds of footage, then slows tremendously. A 30 minute show is taking me roughly 3 hours to render, this seems way too long. I don't know what to do. I am running Intel P4 with a 3.0 ghz processor. I also have 2 gigs of corsair ram so what the heck is going on.

Are you using "Smart Render"?

What are the attributes of all your input videos? Do they differ? If so, then the ones that do not match your output attributes will need to be re-renderd.

What type of effects or filters have you applied to your timeline? All of them will also need to be renderd.

And what output type are you using (codec, resolution, bitrate, etc...)?
