PI12 crashes when starting

I just bought PI12 but I cannot use it! Every time I try to start the program, it crashes to desktop. The same happens to PhotoExplorer 8.6.

After checking Ulead's FAQ I re-installed PI12 as described (both versions), but I still get a CTD. It's very frustrating...

Can anybody help me?
