Tilting Image clips on the Overlay Track?

Post by blplhp »

In a recent thread, a VS10 user asked if text titles could be rotated or tilted to custom angles, and the answer was no.....not within VS10 itself.

My question is similar.......can VS10 rotate or tilt image clips in their resting positions that are overlayed onto the background image? I don't see a button for this, nor can I think of "workarounds".
Cheers,

Hi Bryan,

I don't use the overlay tracks much, but as any video file or image in VS10 can be rotated in increments of 90 degrees, I don't see why not?

Thanks Terry,

I was looking to see if VS10 could tilt image clips on the overlay track..... like 10 degrees or 20 degrees or 45 degrees, or any custom angle between the default horizontal plane and the 90 degree adjustment button.

Does anyone know a "workaround"?
Cheers,

Bryan P.

I don't think there is a work around within VS, Bryan, but I offer this as something I did about a year ago.

I needed a canted caption set at about 20 degrees with a feed back effect on it. I created the caption in video studio white on black, and then I set my camcorder up on a tripod in front of my flat screen monitor which was fed with my caption. I then recorded the canted image and captured it back into video studio. A little time consuming but I have to say, it worked very well.
