Converted avi file has no sound

I am trying to convert a couple of avi files to dvd, and cannot get them to play with sound. Now I have converted many avi's in the past, and they play fine on my stand alone DVD player (recorder). These avi are from the smae source, and are the only 2 which are causing problems.

I am using MovieFactory 3.5, registered edition. As far as I can tell, the avi files are the same as any other that I can convert. They are HDTV captures of TV shows (DivX), encoded with MPEG-3 audio. THey won't play with sound on my computer either, although the original avi plays fine.

Same problem using Ulead to convert to SVCD or VCD, but if I use Nero to encode to VCD/SVCD they play with sound.

I really would rather convert to DVD though, as my other DVD player can't read VCD/SVCD.

Any thoughts?
