MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD "File Format Mismatch" issue DVDW

Post by lombard33 »

Have been following the insightful suggestions made by members of this board, but have run into a snag. Trying to create a memorial tribute DVD video using: 1) Canopus Imaginate; then to 2) Adobe Premiere Pro; and finally to 3) Ulead DVD Workshop.

Had been instructed to render video as MPEG2 (is that similar to MPEG2-DVD?) for this sort of project -- an 8-10 minute video with music background -- but the three file extensions which have come up are apparently incompatible with DVDWS. I've had renderings with the following file extensions: "Adobe XMP file", ".m2v" and "m2v.xmpses".

When attempting to load any of these into DVDWS, I receive an "unable to open file due to file format mismatch."

Where do I discover which file formats ARE compatible? This is turning itself into a time-crunch problem, so any help you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks!

The supported file formats are on p. 11 of the manual. None of the ones you tried are supported with the appropriate extensions.

You may either import as, say, avi (assuming the appropriate codec is installed) and let DVDWS2 do the encoding, or you can encode externally to DVD-compliant MPEG-2 with an mpg file, in which case, WS2 does not need to re-encode.
