Failed to Burn error
Hi,
just installed MF5. tried to create video dvds, and slideshow dvd's, always comes up with "failed to burn error".
Checked DVD burner, that's ok.
Tried DVD+R, DVD RW, DVD-R, same result.
Tried creating a slideshow on CD, same again.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help......

Failed to burn to disc
I have VS10+ and am trying to burn three small videos (only MG worth). Everything goes fine until the output disc reaches 99% and then "failed to burn to disc"appears. I have checked the burner = OK, reinstalled the program, added the recent patch. Still comes up with same message. Any ideas of what I could try would be gratefully received.

Check your DVD burner manufacturers website for updated firmware.
Firmware is software built into the DVD burner to enable it to communicate with the computer.
Please also complete your system specifications

I would check the source files first. Are you using some MP3 audio files in the slideshow part? If so, convert them to WAV files first.
Hope this helps.

Try using
Audacity.
This is a sound editor. You can export the soundtrack from your video editor as a WAV file. Open the file with Audacity and make powerful alterations, fades, cuts, mixes, clean out unwanted sounds, echos and a variety of other useful edits. You can then save the cleaned up sound file and then import it back into your video editor.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Its FREE. It will also import MPG files plus a few other formats.

I have tried Audacity and it makes no difference but could be useful in future so thank you. Then I created an iso file and have managed to burn the three videos onto a CD. It wouldn't burn on a DVD BUT now the resolution is poor, quite pixelated in fact. Problem after problem! Any suggestions would be gratefully received. By the way how do you attach your photo to this chat session?

LIbby,
I think Steve posted the screenshot of DMF because this is the DVD MovieFactory Form, not VideoStudio.
You can only save project files in VS as VSP (VideoStudio Project). However it is possible to Insert VSP files into DMF.
You problem with VS10+ choking could be due to a corrupt MPEG file. It's difficult to determine that without knowing if you followed the recommended procedures setout in the top sticky of the VS forum.
You might be interested in Steve's tutorial, From Camcorder to DVD. Following the tutorial you may find that there maybe a step or settings that you missed, and could help correct your problems.
