Hi. I am demoing MF5. I own MF4 and love it.
Is there a reason on why MF5 has a "menu hop" between selecting the video and the transition? The screen hops diaginal up and left before the transition. Then sometimes there is a flash right at the break between the transition and then the video. I see this on the preview and I see this on the final burn.
I also see the chapter frame issue is in the fixpack. Would be nice if the trial had that issue fixed.
I am not sure if upgrading to 5 is a good idea yet for me especially since MF4 doesn't have the issue and works fine, and computes the burn faster.
I am just trying to iron out the issues before making the purchase.
Thanks.
Pete

Are you referring to the Menu Transitions - if so they are customisable and can be turned off.

I find the menu behavior is still quirky with menu transitions. See the other posts about the audio loop.
Details are missing in your question, like exactly which transition (some were broken in the original MF5, maybe some still are, they have numbers), and which menu type (there are smart menus, etc.).
Maybe it happens when you make the thumbnail large enough, or with certain clips, or certain project settings...
Whatever the details are, try a different template and a different transition.
I do notice a small hop at the very end (not start) of menu-out transition MO_01 in PAL, because it ends a split second too early instead of fully completing the zoom-in motion. Maybe there are some that do this at the start.
