I purchased the Ads Tech DVD Express which comes bundled with several other utilities...Ulead among them.
I'd like to get busy capturing my video so I can burn it to a CD but I am having problems trying to install the software.
I get the following error when double clicking the capwiz.exe:
cw0005: Unable to detect USB Capture Device.
Please check power light and secure all cable connections.
Of course, all cables are connected just fine.
I check the device manager and find the driver for Ads DVD Express has the yellow exclamation mark. The properties box shows that the device is installed but shows that it will not start. When I try to uninstall and reinstall, I get the same thing.
When I try to update the driver I get the Hardware Update Wizard message "Cannot continue the Hardware Update Wizard, The Wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed.
I hope one of you can help me figure out what I have done wrong. Thanks in advance.

This is not the right place to seek help, as you are not asking about a Ulead product. Try www.adstech.com

Hi Devil,
Thanks for the reply. As it seems that I am not asking about a ulead product, because I mention the DVD Express application, the fact is, I am trying to use the Ulead product that comes bundled with it. The problem however is that I cannot even get the application to install properly.
I went to the AdsTech.com and they list this forum as a help forum for their product...I assume because the main feature of it is the Ulead Muvee application as well as some other trial offers.
Fact is, I did come here about a year ago when I first purchased this software. I had the same problem then and someone on this forum had the answer for me. It worked. I just can't find that post...probably because it's so old now. I have since had to reformat and reinstall the O/S and of course, the Ads DVD Express also had to be reinstalled. So, I'm right back where I started.
Any help to get this thing installed, would certainly be appreciated.

Go into the device manager Right click on My Computer: Choose Properties/hardware/Device manager. Then find the ADS DVD Xpress DX device and right click. You then have the choice to install, uninstall, or update the driver. When the hardware Wizard appears then install from a list or specific location. Then insert your cd rom, choose the location on the hardware Wizard, and install the drivers. That should overwrite the current drivers. If not you may have to uninstall the curent drivers and reinstall.
