Can I dicate how long the text shows on the slide that is in a slideshow I have created?
If so, how?
Thanks for your help.

I double checked and I am using MovieFactory 5 PLUS.
In the user manual I printed off (on pg14) it says
"You can use the mark-in/out buttoms to set how long the text clip will be displated on screen".
It also comments that there is "options for the text tab".
I can't find either this "mark in/out button" or the "options for the text tab". I must be looking in the wrong place or something.
Any ideas?

What it is talking about on pg 14 in the manual is Text being applied to your video, not text applied to an image clip.
In order to set the duration, click on the Enhance Video. Then you will be able to find where the text attributes can be customized. Sadly there is no option for setting the text duration for slideshow images. However the text is applied onto the image, so the duration would be the same as the image duration.
If you are wanting more control over text titles then an editing package like VS 10 + can provide you with this.

vidoman, thank you for the info.
It is the text duration PER photo that I want to control.
I was hoping to have the photo show for 5 seconds, but the text only show for the first 2 or 3 seconds.
Disappointing I can't do this.
I can't find any software (other than windows movie maker) that lets me do this to some degree. Will TS 10+ let me do this?
maddrummer3301, thanks for your suggestion, however that is not what I am going for.

I tried maddrummer's trick, however placing a silent audio clip on the photo just increases the duration for the photo, not just for the text...
Yes VS10+ will allow you to do this, using the Editor. The movie wizard is great for quickly creating slideshows, however the text portion is like DMF's. The good side is that with VS10+ you can create a slideshow using the wizard, then further edit it in VS editor. This is where I would place my text on the images...

Well, maybe I don't understand..
OP is wanting if the image duration is 5 secs, the text to appear for less then that, say 2-3 secs.
I loaded a slideshow into DMF5+, and then on various images, placed silent audio, differing in durations. I then went back and checked, that it changed the duration for the image to be displayed, however had no differing affect on the text. If I highlighted images, I could see that the ones I placed the audio on, had the duration of the audio clip, the rest had whatever (3 secs for example) I had set.
I'll have to try it again, and this time (which I should have done before) I'll also just place text on an image without the audio, to see if that is different.
Edited..
I tried again, placing text & audio on an image, Text only on an image, and then audio only on an image. Again it just altered the duration of the image not the text....
