Oh dear ... this is all very frustrating.
I have spent a couple of days slowly going through the various advice emails, and have had some success.
At least watching a panned video doesn't give me a headache, but it is still not right.
I used to use Adobe Premier, but that always had the sound out of synch, so that is why I tried Ulead. Now I have the sound OK, I have a jerky playback.
I have tried everything that has been mentioned, and also re-jigged my hard drives betwen Primary and Secondary, but all to no avail.
Thank you all for the time you have spent on this lost cause.
I supppose I shall just have to watch un-edited video .. not at all a nice prospect when I deliberately over-shot scenes with a view to editing them later.
I will start again from scratch one more day, tomorrow ... wish me luck!
If this is likely to be a Ulead problem, is there any chance of getting my money back? ... me thinks not.
Thanks again
Mr. Chips

Just a brief reply. I have recently bought a digital video using mini-dv and am "randomly" experiencing the same problems. I captured 3 mini dv tapes using the exact same capture options. I then edited etc and created 3 video (mpeg) files. I authored and burnt all three to dvd. The first two tapes were fine but the third was jerky. I then burnt the third using videostudio and it was still jerky (the mpeg alone plays fine btw). I then authored and burnt it using Nero and the jerkiness was gone. Strange it only happened to the third tape and only it seems at the author burn stage.
