JVC Camera Control

New here and to VS. Just recently upgraded from VS8 to VS10. In VS8 I could control my JVC DVL510U via the control under the preview screen. In VS10 I can not and I don't know why. The capture works fine, but I must use the controls on the camera itself. Anybody know what has happened between VS8 and VS10 in reference to camera control?

There is a Preference setting (Capture tab) that controls whether or not VS is allowed to manipulate the camcorder controls.

That preference is set correctly. Still unable to control the camera. Any other suggestions?

If capture works fine but VS 10+ can't control the camcorder is there a setting on the camcorder itself that might prevent control thru the firewire connection?
This sounds like an issue for Ulead Tech support. Maybe they dropped support for the JVC DVL510U...
