Are you planning to create a slide show with gif animator?
Are you aware that the gif format severely lowers the color depth of your images? From literally millions of colors down to 256 max.
Gif animator is best used with small images. Having a number of photos there might even choke it.
I would get a different program to create slide shows if I were you.
And, no, there is no possibility to stop/start a gif animation, you can have it run just once or repeat continuously but you cannot stop start mid stream.
