Video will not fit on dvd..help please (VS7)
I have created a video that is 1.5 hours. I used the 4000 bitrate setting to create a DVD, that should give me 2 hours of video (i think, im kinda new at this). I always get a message that tells me that I don't have enough space on my DVD. even though the little bar at the bottom is only indicating that the video is about 2.5GB. My computer is very new and high quality, so is the drive. any help is much appreciated.

I use 4000 kbps as the capture rate for my videos and can get well over 2 hours on a DVD. In fact, I did a 2 hour and 10 minute video at 4500 kbps and it fit.
There is an option in "Create DIsc" under "preferences" in UVS8 that allows you to select the DVD size. Make sure you have 4.7gb selected.
Also:
1) Are you capturing using variable bit rate? This is more efficient from a file size point of view.
2) Try outputting the DVD files (VIDEO_TS folder) to your hard drive first and see how big the folder is. I always do it that way in any case so I can check the results by playing it with WMP before wasting a DVD. To do this, uncheck "Record to Disc" and Check "Create DVD Folders".
I use Nero to actually burn this VIDEO_TS folder to DVD once I'm happy with what was actually created.
Good luck!
