How do I blur out a bum?

Post by meshuken »

I have a JPG pic I'm running in an overlay shot and there is a naked bum (that is, a *rear end* for you yanks).

Is there an easy way (aside from doctoring the photo in Photoshop and reinserting) to blur or fuzz out just the bum part of the pic? I want to keep the rest of the photo sharp...

Worse case scenerio I can overlay a color bar in another video track to hide it.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Try using one of the video filters, Defraction or Star. You can customzie them so that it covers the bum. That's about the easiest method for images. However for video it is not that easy, as the target object tends to move and with VS it's more complex to follow a moving object with one of the filters.

As an alternative use an overlay track and place something on top of it, preferably something natural looking such as a picture in picture.

You could also hide it with some text.

Cool guys, thanks for the tips.

Here's the image if you're curious:

I'll try both your suggestions and see what works best.

It's a good book, by the way.
