Adding titles in 'enhance video' menu causes dropped frames

I experimented a lot to find out why my rendered project featured shaky, discontinuous movements.

I start from mini DV AVI files which i capture using Panasonic software and this works fine.

Next i multitrim the AVI files. When i go back to the Edit media screen, the scenes are still nicely continuous. After adding the title to the videoclips i notice that the scene becomes discontinuous. When i erase the title again, it is nicely continuous and smooth again.

Joining also has the same effect. I also found out that when i do the joining with Nero 7 (Vision 4), there is no problem. I can then reenter the clip into MF5.

Does this observation ring a bell with any of you? and more important is there a solution,
