Desperate for help.
I am in the process of editing my holiday video, which will be 1hour 15mins long. I have broken it into two, so that it is spread on 2 DVD's.
1 file is 45 mins and the other is 30 mins
I have just completed the main editing on both files and now about to add background music.
Problem: during the process of adding the fist wav file the message (video editor encountered problem and needs to shut down) appeared. this is not unusual as it has happened previously. This time when I go to open up the file again, all I get is (unable to open file) followed by a plain no. 20213:2:2
The other half seems to be okay at the moment.
I have edited this quantity before with no undue problems. Any help will be very much appreciated. I really do not fancy having to re do that part of it all over again!!!
Thanks
Reg G
MSP7 Unable to open file?
You might try putting a colour clip or silence on the timeline (doesn't matter how long) then try to "insert" the old project.
If that doesn't work, try sending it to Ulead to see if they can tinker with it to bring it back to life.
Does the progress bar at the bottom get to a certain percentage before the error message shows? If 20%: you're stuffed, if 80%: Ulead might be able to recover it.
Just as an aside, unless there are artistic reasons for putting your film on two DVDs, there's no need to do it. It should fit with room to spare on a single disc.
