I was wondering, I have a jpg picture and I want to add animated text to it so that I can put that into viedo 10 for a video that I am making, is this possible or is cool3d made for animation by them selves. Can you put them on top of a jpg.
Thanks

I hope I'm understanding your question Tabby.. If so you can add something you have created using Cool3D into your VS project. There are a couple of ways to do this.
I think if you have installed the SWF patch for your version, you can create a SWF animation. You can also create a GIF. Both of those can be added to your VS10 project. To do so, in VS you need to use the Insert Video option, not image. You can also just bring your project (c3d) into VS. Then have VS render it also. Beaware that it will take longer to render then when you have a product that was already rendered using Cool3D, because VS will have to render your Cool3D also.
However if I recall correctly, your version does not allow rendering an overlay AVI. So whatever background you have if you choose to render your Cool3D project to an AVI, will not be transparent in your VS project.
If you insert a background image into Cool3D, then you can create a 3D text to play ontop of it. Then this can be inserted into VS10.
Did that answer your question? If not let us know...

Tabby,
I haven't looked at VS10 yet and don't plan to since I use MSPro 8 now. (I have VS9 and MSPro
But open up Windows Explorer and try dragging and dropping the simple text file you created onto your timeline. Make sure you put your jpgs on the main timeline and the simple text file on your overlay timeline. If you weren't able to make your background transparent, then you'll need to use the overlay options to do that. Let us know if that works.

Thanks
