black bar at the top of analog capture?

Post by brucefl »

When I capture from the VCR (tried different settings) I get a black bar on the top. One vcr I get it on the left also.
Is there a way when capturing to get rid of this. If I remember right this has to do with the lines of resolution for TV?
Other than doing an overlay track? Which when played back through a dvd player you would get a black top?

I am assuming when I get the Canapos 110 and input from the VCR, through the firewire, I will get the same results?

thanks Bruce

This is probably in the overscan area (the margins around the picture) and it probably won't show-up on a TV. If the black bars are small, and you think this could be the case, make a quick test-DVD to check it out.
