What version of VideoStudio are you using ??

I am guessing you may be using version 8 or earlier which did not support the Dolby audio you *may* have on your DVD

A bit more information would help us to find an answer to your problem.

Can you tell us a bit about the DVD you are trying to import - tell us about your computer - as well as which software you are using and the method you employed to copy from the DVD into VideoStudio.

I am trying to import a video from the dvd (dvd-r) which was recorded with my samsung camcorder. I am able to watch the videos normally in the windows media player (or any other software). I just can't import to Ulead VideoStudio with audio.
I was planning to import so I could send it to my family :(

Is there anything different I have to do? :?: It is the first time I am trying to do this.

thank you

What format is the audio on the DVD-R? Do you possibly have the "free" SE version of VS9?

If it is version 9 and came with your camcorder, then it is 99% certain to be an SE version. And I am afraid SE versions are not licensed to have the Dolby codec included. To get it, you would have to upgrade to VS10.

And to test the properties of your files, then within Video Studio right click on one of the ones you imported from the DVD (either in the timeline or in the Library pane) and go to Properties at the bottom.
