WHY IS THERE NO HELP FEATURE????

Post by Brook1 »

I cannot find the "help" feature on this program and I can't find anyone to ask. Does anyone know if this program even has a help feature?

Hi

What version are you using and is it the trial version.?
If it is the TBYB then there is no help files. If not Press F1

Afaik the trial version has been reduced in size to help with download times.
The program is as far as I am aware fully functional.

Yes I have the trial version because I wanted to see how easy it was to use before I recommended purchasing it. But if there is not help feature, I don't have time to go through every button and hope that this one will let me do wheat I wanted. So if there is not help feature on the Trial Version - does anyone know HOW we are supposed to decide if we like the program if we can't even check the help feature to figure out how to do certain things?

For video studio also look at version 9 tutorials.

Thanks - I did go to the learning page, but all it had was bits and pieces for Version 10 and - i did not know that I could use the 9 version to learn how to use the 10 verson. I will download those and see if they work. Except now, I have wasted hours downloading - trying to edit blindly with no help feature and then trying to find the help in the and on the web, is this program really worth all of the effort? I mean apparently the makers of this program don't want to talk to anyone (there is no phone number any where - and I would have called japan if that's what it took). But if they do not care about FUTURE Customers - I am concerned that they would be as awful about customer service as Micro Soft is.

Customer Service would not talk to you anyway because you are not a registered user.

Try viewing the tutorial for v9, it is basically the same as v10, enough to give you an idea if you like it or not.

The learning curve on this program is kinda steep... took me a few nights of working with it and reading up on this page and help from other users to get rolling with it. It's not jump in and create a DVD friendly or very intuitive that I've found but it's great once you get past that initial brain cramp.

My trial version expires in three days... after the help I received and the product I was able to play in my DVD player... they'll get my money to get the full version here in a few days. :)

You can download the user manual for version 10 from here :-

http://www.ulead.com/vs/documents.htm

It provides a great deal of help on how to use version 10.

You're using the help feature right now!!!

And believe me, this one works better than anything you get with any software.

About the only difference between VS9 and VS10 + is that the latter offers more video overlay tracks. The techniques are the same, so you could and I recommend you download the video tutorials for VS9 and view them to get an idea of video editing.

Now since this is a question regarding learning how to use the program, it is time for this very important commercial break......

Do you find VS a bit overwhelming? Are you new to video editing in general? Or maybe an experienced videographer that just needs a boost, more ideas on how to freshen up your skills at post production? Then you need Charlie Hills book, Getting Results with VideoStudio 9. (He hasn't done one for VS10, he's taking a break). With Charlies book comes sample video clips, where he takes you by the hand, and walks you through about every aspect of video editing. But wait... He also goes to great lengths to explain proper techniques in shooting your video too.. So don't wait, don't walk, but surf over and get your copy today, it is almost free. It is dirt cheap!!!

Now back to the forum topic... yes we have great tutorials here, most of which are provided by Steve Jones, and a slew of others by numerous members. Check them out here...http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewforum.php?f=27
