dvp and veproj filetypes?

Post by tp »

This is a simple question but I cannot find the definitive answer anywhere.

What is the relationship between the .dvp file and the accompanying smaller .veproj file type?

I can see in the backup directories I'm getting more .dvp files. Is the .veproj holding preferences and settings whereas the dvp contains the EDL etc?

I won't speculate further. I'll wait for an answer from someone who knows.

Essentially, AFAIK, the dvp file contains what is needed to load a project into MSP and is used only for that purpose. The veproj files contain additional data that may be used by other applications, such as encoders. One type of such info would be chapter cues, which can be used to incorporate into avi or mpeg files for importing into an authoring application. I'm not quite sure how that works.

Thanks for that. At least I wasn't missing something too obvious. The veproj files seem to be created with manual saves.
