DVP demo crashes during burn.

Post by apdil »

I downloaded and installed the latest DVP Demo.

I attempted to make a DVD movie from 2 images.

1) I find the user interface extremely clunky and non-intuitive to anyone already familiar with Windows. All I wanted was a simple slide show, no themes, no sound, and a fade transition. I eventually realized I needed the "Slideshow" tab. Then: how to delete the dopey theme song? The obvious thing is: select it and press Delete. Nope, have to press '-'. Then it took forever to find the Fade transition buried in the hierarchy of transition groups in the combo box. As an experienced programmer I can say all these little glitches violate basic principles of UI design.

2) THE MAIN PROBLEM is that when I finally tried to Burn my slide show, the program crashed 14% of the way through. This happened whether I was recording to disc or DVD folders. The program simply stopped, unresponsive--I had to launch Task Manager to kill the process, and got the familiar "This process is not responding."

If the DVP demo can't burn a 2-picture slide show without crashing, why would you expect me to buy your product?

Also, when I called support to ask a pre-sales technical question, the person was unable to answer, and frankly didn't seem to even understand my question.

The fact of the matter is this, the program does work. Why it doesn't on your machine is anybody's guess.

If you don't like the interface, don't buy it.

If you still want answers though, have a read of this http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8960. It will give you an idea about the details we need to know to even hint at a solution to your problem.

BTW, tech support is not available for the TBYB versions, only registered users of the full or SE versions have access to it.
