New to the Program

Post by tabbycat »

My church just baught the program Ulead video studio plus 10. Cool 3d came with it. I installed it and I downloaded the manual, I started going thru the manual, and when I got to the bevel section, it was telling me to click on aell these plugins, that I could not find. I called the technical support they said that the plugins must have not come on my disk and they would send me the link on email that I could download them so that I could do the tutorial. They never sent me the email and I cant find the plugins like fire or anything like that can someone tell me, where they correct they didn't come on the cd. Do I need to buy the plugins. Any help would be appricated. I have a couple more questions but I want to get this one solved first.

Thanks
Tabbycat

by the way I have version 3.0

Can you post a link to the page you are talking about? The page provided by Will Marwick is the one that has the free content that works in your freebie version of Cool 3D.

I just downloaded the manual for Cool 3D, please advise what page you are referring to.

Other Plug-Ins such as the Plug-In Madness has to be purchased.

On page 40 of the user manuel for instance I am trying to do the tutorial, the 2nd step of that tutorial says

2 On the Attribute Toolbar, select Frame
from the Bevel Mode list. The Frame
options appear, and a default rectangular
frame appears around the object

I don't have frame undeer bevel mode list, if I understand this right it is a plugin that I don't have. This is just one example of that hole chapter. Is this part of the maddness plugins that you were talking about

All the additonal files for version 3.0 are here:

http://www.ulead.com/tech/c3d/c3d_ftp.htm

Read the page carefully. There are updates/files for versions 3.5, 3.0 and 2.0 on this page.

Hope that helps.

On Ulead's Website, (the link provided above) did you download any of them? It seems as though you haven't, so you need to in order to have those. You should not have to purchase the Madness Plugins to achieve those effects.

I only use the Production Studio version, but I can if need be, try to find my free copy of this and install it to see what the problem may be...

I downloaded everything on that sight that I was supposed to and it still did not take care of my problem. I was wondering if I should I do, should I buy the updated program, if so what would you recommend and how much would it cost me, could I upgrade from this program that I have?

Tabbycat,

The version that you are using, Cool3D 3.0SE is a freebie program. The updates can not be applied to your version. I just loaded it from my VS10+ CD. It is rather limited on what it can do, but you should be able to create some interesting 3D for your videos.

I would recommend that you purchase Cool3D 3.5 if you are wanting to do much with it. This is a great verison for home hobbiest.
