auto start when inserted in a DVD player, stopping it?

Post by brucefl »

When I create a video, it automatically starts in the Player.
Is this a set up in the player? I remembered how to stop it
from automatically starting over at the end.
There is no menu or anything at the beginning.
Or is there a setting in VS10 when burning?

If you're talking about the "player" in your computer, this is a "feature" of the Windows operating system. The methods of disabling autoplay vary, depending on your version of Windows. Maybe this will help.

All stand-alone players will play automatically. You can make a DVD that has a "first-play" video, or one that starts with a menu, but something is going to start automatically.

Hi

Yep, The menu is a set of instructions controlled by the remote control.

If you don’t create a menu then there is no way to manually start the video.

The disc will auto run.

There have been times when I didn't have use for a menu, except to start the video. I just made one menu button and labeled it Play Video. Other times I have just allowed a long fade in from black so the beginning of the video wouldn't be missed.
