I just downloaded and installed DVDMF5+, upgrading from the original DVDMF5 and I already have 2-isssues with "+" that I didn't have with the original.
First, the install was sloppy/problem wrought. After a complete, successfull install, every menu template it tried to use, kept complaining about missing fonts. I reran the install....did a REPAIR and that seemed to fix it.
Now my problem is with the "working directory" setting. No matter what I set it to, it always goes to "My Documents - Ulead DVD Movie Factory 5". Before, it went to where I set it, which is a separate 300GB drive that has enough space to handle anything while "My Documents" is on a mostly full 15GB partition.
Yes, I completely uninstalled the previous version before installing "+".
What gives ? Any suggestions on getting this to work as it is supposed to ?

Thanks for the thoughts/suggestions. I did install it exactly as you described in your other email/link. I know all about self-extracting RAR files, which is what the download is (I guess they didn't want to make it one big download and make it 5-pieces).maddrummer3301 wrote:Only guessing but it still sounds like a bad installation. If it was my computer I'd un-install MF5+. Reboot, and then re-install following the instructions in the link below. As far as I know the "Working Folder" information is stored in the registry UNless your loading a previously saved project.First, the install was sloppy/problem wrought. I posted this previously but not sure how you downloaded your version of MF5+

Well, still no joy in Mudville. In fact, slightly worse.zforray wrote:Thanks for the thoughts/suggestions. I did install it exactly as you described in your other email/link. I did a complete uninstall.....rebooted.......reinstalled........changed the Workspace to my "Y:" drive.........did an IMPORT and it still put everything to my mostly full "D:" drives into "My Documents".
I double checked the preferences before starting the import and it correctly points to where it should.
On top of this, after the reinstall, I now get an error at bootup that says: "Quick-Drop.exe - The ordinal 12 could not be located in the dynamic link library mpgmux.dll". So the reinstall seems to have screwed up either my PI12 or VS10+.
Any more thoughts on this ?
Note that I don't have MF5+, but by reading some of the comments the following things come to mind...
1. Did you really follow all instructions for a clean reinstall in the MF5 technical FAQs? Including uninstall of previous version before MF5+ installation, manual removal of the MF folders in the user profiles, and the registry entries?
You have your OS user profiles somewhere in D: (normally this is "C:\Documents and Settings"). So the folders to delete manually are somewhere in D:, not the path shown in the FAQ of course.
2. Check your PATH environment variable setting and remove old paths. Maybe you're installing the "same" software (plus vs. non-plus) into a different folder and have leftovers.
3. I would download the software again completely and not use the previously downloaded files.
4. You can disable Quick-drop via the task tray.
But the error message you're getting is a very strong indication that a corrupt or wrong (or infected) version of the file is being located.
Search all drives for "mpgmux.dll" and maybe you'll find a surprise. Maybe you have "Program files\Common files" on both C: and D: or a quirky system setup. (See PATH above)
BTW it is normal for MF to use a couple of 100MB in TEMP, in addition to the "working folder".
