Removing Audio from a DVD

Post by Captain »

What is the best way to do this?
I have a DVD that I need only the video and none of the audio, but I must be doing something wrong as I only get a single file when importing. I rtfm'ed but no luck. Any help is appreciated.

You're not doing anything wrong. The audio and vdeo on a DVD are mulitplexed together (interwoven) in one or more VOB files. The AUDIO_TS folder on a DVD is normally empty. The VOB files are actually special MPEG files, and you get a single continuous MPG file when you import the DVD. But, this does not mean that you can't edit the audio and video separately.

There is more than one way to silence the audio. Audio editing is explained in the user manual starting on page 112. Or, Look for the word "mute" on pages 67 and 150 of your manual. (If you have the PDF manual, you can search for "mute".)

When you are done editing your audio/video, go the the Share tab and save the edited version of your file.

Thanks for the reply.
Ironically - Just as I was figuring it out I get a notify pop-up that someone had responded to my question. :D

Thx

Hi

Just highlight the video clip and hit the 'mute'button.
