Hi, I'm quite new to DVDWS2, and in my old authouring package,
when adjusting the settings for the DVD, i was able to adjust the peak and average bitrate, but don't seem to be able to find these in DVDWS2
or are they worded different
Thanks in advance for your help
Darren
Newbie question, Peak & Ave settings
You can, but you have to find your DVDWS.ini file, and insert ADVANCE=1 in the [VIODRIVER] section.
You will then find an Advanced button in the dialogue box and this will be the Open, Sesame to all sorts of things, such as you wish, and a host of things no one understands, as well as the useful ones.

There must be, or it wouldn't work. Where did you look? As you didn't bother to take action on the PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING thread, I can't know which OS you are using or anything about your hardware. It is probably somewhere under Docs and Settings but if you use the Find or Search function for it, you may have to tell it to allow hidden and system files to be searched.

I will fill my profile out in good time, but as the question i asked has nothing to do with systems specs etc, i didn't bother.
FYI I have WIN XP Pro, i've done a search for the file and nothing comes up, I've done a *.ini search and nothing remotely to do with DVDWS2 is listed, I would have thought the settings would be in the registry.
INI files are old hat these days

dvdws.ini
This file was found at the below address on my system.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD Workshop\2.0
I am also using winxp pro sp2
just did a copy/paste of dvdws.ini in the start ==> search windows found it right away... give it another try!
I am not sure what "dialog box" devil is talking about, but that above listed string ADVANCE=1 doesn't seem to do squat, unless I am not clicking on the right thing.
Can you give us any insight, Devil??

I found it!!
This is a follow up to the previous discussion.
To find the "advanced setting" you have to click on:
settings ==>
disc template manager==>
compression==>
advanced
this is only after to enter the string into the .ini file
