A very simple menu?

Post by fatbloke »

Using DVD Authoring with MSP8 I can create menus OK with templates supplied. I know how to change background, music etc but all I want to do is create a very simple menu. This consists of a single image PAL 720x576), one piece of background music and perhaps a title that says... Press > to play overalyed on the image. Obviously, when the user hits the DVD > button, the main feature plays. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks,
Simon

Have you tried Next'ing your way through without modifying anything?

Thanks for the reply Terry

Just tried this on your recommendation... I just end up at the last page that allows you to burn the disk. I still can't see how to generate the simple menu described above. As I said, I have absolutely no problem generating a menu from the templates provided. Perhaps (as usual), I haven't described properly what I want to acheive.

The user puts the DVD in the player, the disc loads and presents an image on the screen with some background music - which loops until the user presses the Play button on the DVD player. The main movie will then play.

Create a your movie with a very brief (1 frame?) image clip right at the beginning. Switch off motion menu. Type your text onto the menu and drag the 'movie frame' over the text ( or move the text ).
 Or you could add an image clip at the beginning of your dvd project. But I think it will create a slight pause in the play - not that anyone will notice as the movie will just be starting
