All 16:9 movies imported are converted to 4:3 aspect ratio

I do realize that this topic is rather old, so I apologize for bumping it. :?

In regards to the topic. I have some lovely .avi files that are (640x272) widescreen and was hoping to put them on a DVD. I have gotten the same problem that this topic entitles, which is, the files are converted to 4:3.

From my understanding of this topic, .avi's are unable to convert to 16:9. So my question is thus... is there a program, which is the same idea as DWS2, but allows avi to be burned in its 16:9 format?

Thanks for your time and patience!
Warmest,
Laura

In order to burn 16:9, you are best converting your AVI to compliant MPEG-2 and import that into WS2, making sure that it does not re-render.
