Big Problem!
when i load videostudio 8, it says "load From Stream Error." It first started happening when i deleted clips i did not need anymore. the pic of where the videos should be is a white box with a x going through it. How can i fix this? I tried repairing, and uninstalling the program and yet it does not fix the problem.

Don't know if this will solve your problem, but....
The "clips" you see in the library pane are not actual clips, but pointers, or thumbnails, which refer to the actual clips on the hard drive. If you delete the actual clips themselves, the thumbnails will still be there, but not pointing to anything. If you click on one you will get a dialogue box "...file not available. Delete?"
The correct answer is YES. Any thumbnails still hanging around in the library and not pointing to anything need to be gotten rid of.

Just to carry on from what Ron has said, I find it better if you want to remove clips from your PC to work from within UVS and first make sure none of the clips are actually in the timeline - then click on the thumbnail in the library pane and hit delete on your keyboard - you will then be asked if you want to delete the thumbnail - say yes - you will then be asked if you want to delete the actual file - say yes if thats what you want.
You can multiple select thumbnails for deletion using Shift/click and Ctrl/click just as you would files in 'my computer'
When you do an uninstal and re-instal there are hidden files which you also need to remove - if deleting the un-linked thumbnails does not solve your problem do a search on these forums for the procedure or if your really stuck ask again and one of us will post some possible solutions

How to Get Rid of Load From Stream Error Without Losing Your Library
If you don’t want to lose all your custom directories or the pointers to all your video, image, audio, and titles, do the following: (Note: The file system path is valid for Windows XP Home. If you have another operating system, the file system path may be different.)
1. Save the contents of the following directory in a Temporary directory: C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\8.0
2. Delete both 8.0 directories: <ALL USERS> and your personal <USER> name
3. Uninstall Video Studio 8.
4. Install Video Studio 8.
5. Restore your custom Library directories and pointers to your clips as follows: Copy the following files from your Temporary directory:
VS_Video.dat,
VS_Title.dat,
VS_Image.dat, and
VS_Audio.dat
and paste them into
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\8.0.
IMHO, the way to prevent the Load From Stream Error in the future is to turn off Write caching (when editing with Video Studio) as follows:
Control Panel/System/Hardware tab/Device Manager/{double click on a disk drive to open Properties window}/Policies tab/{uncheck “Enable Write caching on the disk”
