Capturing analogue 8mm into videostudio

Hello,

I am capturing some footage from an analogue 8mm camcorder into videostudio. I am running the 8mm cam through my DV cam in order to capture digitally. The footage was shot in 16:9 and captures fine. When I expand the preview window the ratio of the picture does not keep the same and there is a solid blue line down the screen right at the side of the right hand edge of the frame of the picture. Is it my capture settings or is there something different I have to do to capture this in? Digital footage is capturing as normal but the 8mm analogue does not. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
